About Us

The Friends of Cook Memorial Library is a not-for-profit organization which exists to promote books in general and the Cook Memorial Library in particular. It is run by volunteers. After expenses, 100% of the money raised (either through fund raisers and programs or donations from the public) goes back into the library. We underwrite the costs of the library's reading programs (the costs of supplies and prizes) and finance equipment and supplies not covered in the library budget. We sponsor programs of interest for the library and community. We have also provided volunteers as needed for special library activities.

We've got an upcoming booksale on April 25th & 26th. All the goods will be semi-sorted into fiction, nonfiction, and kids groups. Check out the booksale page for all the details. Make sure to check the rules for our new scanner policy.

Also, until further notice Cook Memorial Library will no longer be accepting donations of books. Lake Forest Library accepts book donations year round.
